Education in Cyprus..
There are many fields of study that the students may choose for applying in the colleges in Cyprus. But Cyprus is well known for the study of Hotel/ Hospitality and Tourism Management Programs. Most of the colleges in Cyprus offers the diploma and under graduate programs in Hospitality management. And another thing is that, at the present situation, the permit of working (called paid practical training) is only given to the students of hotel and hospitality fields. So, life will be harder for those who intend to come here for the study of other subjects.
Semester system
In Cyprus, there are three semesters in a year in the colleges. Which are described below:
-Fall Semester (Oct -Jan)
-Spring Semester (Feb -May)
-Summer Semester (June -July)
Most of the colleges offer all the courses in fall and spring semester but only limited courses in the summer semester. Most of the international students enter Cyprus in Fall Semester (October).
Admission Requirements
The applicant is required to submit the allowing items in order to apply for admission generally.
- Application form of college with non-refundable application charged by the college.
- High school records: attested/translated.
- English language: TOEFL/ IELTS (if taken).
- Bank letter or financial support letter of more that US$ 10,000 per year.
- Letter of good conduct or Police report.
- Migration certificate.
- Passport copies.

English Language: Students who haven’t given TOEFL, IELTS, English GCSE (GCE) O’ level then he/she should have to sit in the EPT (English Placement Test) taken by the college to finalize his standard of English.
Visa Guarantee: Entry visas are issued in advance, so getting a visa is a not a problem as far as studying in Cyprus is concerned.

Cyprus Visa requirements for Indian Students
International students from India will need to apply for a student visa from the Cyprus Embassy / Consulate in New Delhi. When you are accepted as student by some college in Cyprus and Letter of Acceptance is issued to you, you need to apply for visa. The Embassy will be open to students from 10.00-13.00 Monday to Friday. During the interview students must have with them the following documents. Embassy may or may not conduct Interview before issuing visa.
- Original and attested copy of 10th and 12th Certificates and Mark sheets.
- Original letter and copy from the sponsor’s bank (in English) confirming that the sponsor (mother or father) has sufficient funds to finance the student’s fees and living expenses in Cyprus.
- Original letter and copy of good conduct (in English) from the police authorities in the student’s country of residence indicating clear criminal record.
- Valid passport and copy of relevant pages.
- Acceptance letter from Cyprus College.
- Copy of entry permit sent by College.
- The receipts indicating payments to Cyprus College.
- Visa fee.
For successful applicants the Embassy will attest the certified copies of the above documents.
Arrival Check List
- Students will need to show the copies attested by the Embassy when arriving at the Immigration Office at Larnaca airport.
- You must declare a total amount of college fee receipts and cash otherwise you may not be allowed to enter the country. Provided you have submitted the tuition fees for the first semester and the International Student Guarantee of €340 you then need to have with you at least €2,550 in cash to cover personal expenses (meals, books, accommodation etc). These amount figures may vary so you are advised to check embassy site for updates.
- The receipts indicating payments to Cyprus College.
- Copy of the acceptance letter from the Office of Admissions.
- A valid passport.
- Return air ticket to country of origin.
